Questions and answers

Releasing on Spotify: common questions

Didn’t find an answer? Message us — we’ll go through your release.

Through a distributor: artists can’t upload music to Spotify directly. You send us the materials, we prepare the release and deliver it via Zvonko Digital — it appears on Spotify officially under your artist name.

Spotify has no fixed rate: the payout depends on the listener’s country and subscription. On average it is a fraction of a cent per stream; reports and payouts come through the distributor.

Algorithmic ones — Release Radar and Discover Weekly — pick the track up automatically if the release is official and the artist has listeners. Editorial playlists are pitched through Spotify for Artists before the release date.

Claim your profile in Spotify for Artists after your first release goes live: the request is made with a link to the release, and the checkmark appears after review.
